Thermoset Material: Vulcanization Means "Form Is Set"

Silicone is a thermoset material. Once vulcanization and cross-linking are complete, its molecular structure is permanently set. Even with sustained temperature increases, it will not soften or deform the way thermoplastic materials do.

This inherent characteristic directly determines silicone cable's stable performance in high-temperature environments: standard temperature ratings start at 125°C, and with higher-performance formulations, can reach 200°C. Even under prolonged high-temperature operating conditions, it still maintains stable physical form and electrical performance.

From an economic standpoint, silicone has a significantly lower specific gravity than XLPE, allowing more length to be extruded for the same weight. Combined with its inherent raw-material price advantage, silicone cable demonstrates more outstanding competitiveness in unit cost compared with similar high-temperature materials — making it particularly friendly to projects that must balance high-temperature performance with budget control.

As for user experience, XLPE insulation materials commonly have a hardness between 89–95A, while standard silicone can be controlled at 70A or below, making it more flexible overall. Compared at the same cross-section, silicone cable offers a smaller bending radius and smoother routing — whether pulled through conduit or wired inside equipment, it delivers a lighter, more labor-saving installation experience.

Heat-Resistant + Flexible: A Versatile Choice Across Scenarios

The reason high-temperature silicone cables are widely used in real-world scenarios is that they offer two key characteristics at once: one is the ability to withstand high temperatures, and the other is being sufficiently flexible.

Take AI servers as an example. The continuous operating temperature inside server cabinets often exceeds 80°C or even higher. Cables must be laid out for extended periods in close proximity to motherboards, power modules, and high-frequency backplanes, without occupying too much space.

In new energy vehicles, the entire system — from the high-voltage connections inside the power battery pack, to the motor windings in the e-drive system, to the vehicle's high-voltage harness and fast-charging interface — must cope with the high-temperature environment near the motor and electronic control units, while also routing through the narrow body structure. Both flexibility and heat resistance are indispensable.

In the industrial sector, equipment such as metallurgical electric furnaces, glass kilns, welding robots, and plastic extrusion lines operates year-round under heavy 200°C loads, where silicone cable continues to perform stably.
