From this point of view, European roofs are more suitable for installing solar panels because of the natural slope advantage.

In general, asphalt, metal, and tile roofs, as well as tar and gravel roofs, are all suitable for solar panel installation, and it has little to do with the type of roof. 1. How to install solar panels on flat roof?

Step 1： PV system wiring on flat roof

There are generally two types of solar PV panel wiring methods: series and parallel.

A: Series connection wiring method: (applicable to scenarios requiring high voltage)

Connect the positive and negative terminals of each solar panel with a cable connector, with the positive terminal connected to the positive terminal and the negative terminal connected to the negative terminal. Pay attention to the order of connection, be sure to connect the panels by the order of the positive and negative poles in turn.

B: Parallel connection method: (applicable to scenes requiring high current)

Connect the positive and negative terminals of each solar panel with cable connectors respectively, with the positive terminal connected to the positive terminal and the negative terminal connected to the negative terminal. Be careful to connect the negative and positive poles must be corresponding, do not connect the wrong.

Note: In addition to paying attention to the connection order, you need to use professional cable connectors and insulation materials to ensure the reliability and safety of the connection.

Step 2：Mounting the racking on a flat roof

It is important to note that it is more difficult to install racking on a flat roof than on a European-style roof. A triangular bottom beam must be installed over the concrete load. This process requires the installation of cross beams on the triangular brackets. Install rear diagonal braces on the triangular bottom beam brackets and connect them to the cross beams with rear diagonal braces supports, secured with M10x40 studs and connected to the cross beams with movable spacers.

When the fence is too high or there are obstacles on the ground (lightning strips, wires, bridges), we can use brackets with elevated legs, and the double-row brackets can also be laid on open roofs.

Step 3: Mounting solar panel components on the flat roof

The solar panel modules are connected in groups according to the inverter.

When installing the solar panel modules on a concrete flat roof, if the single row of solar panel modules is long, they can be mounted horizontally by starting from the center and working their way to the sides.

2. How to install solar panels on pitched roof?

Step 1: PV system wiring for European pitched roof

For solar panel installations on flat roof or pitched roof, there is no difference in the way the PV system is wired. Refer to the above section on how to install a wired PV system on a flat roof.

Step 2: Mounting bracket on the pitched roof

The most obvious difference between installing solar panels on flat and pitched roofs is shown here. The method of mounting brackets on a pitched roof is as follows:

a. in the cement roof open expansion bolt hole, hole depth according to the thickness of the roof;

B. Inject sealant into the expansion bolt hole;

C. Put in the expansion bolts and fix the bending hook on the cement roof;

D. Coat the sealant on the combined surface of the hook and the roof;

E. Fill the area around the hook with cement and do waterproof treatment, and restore the tile.

Step 3：Installation of solar panels components on the pitched roof

When installing solar panel modules on European pitched roofs, it is necessary to consider the connection method and the number of strings of solar panel modules in advance and to connect the pins of two solar panel modules before installing the next one. When installing components on a color steel tile surface, the same attention should be paid to connecting the terminals of two components before installing the next one.
