SUNKEAN new bifacial solar panels Apr 26,2022

Solar PV panels are made up of one of two different types of crystalline cells; monocrystalline or polycrystalline cells. The majority of bifacial solar panels are made from monocrystalline cells. As monocrystalline cells are more efficient, despite being more expensive. Solar cells in bifacial solar panels are exactly the same as in mono facial solar panels. The only real difference is how the panel is made. Whereas traditional mono facial solar panels have an opaque backsheet, Bifacial solar panels have a reflective back or dual panes of glass holding the solar cells in place. Exposing the solar cells to sunlight at the back as-well as the front.

Bifacial solar modules offer many advantages over traditional solar panels. A bifacial panel can generate power from both sides, boosting overall electricity production. They are frequently more resilient since both sides are UV resistant, and when the bifacial solar panel is structurally sound, the risk of potentially induced deterioration (PID) gets diminished. When more electricity is available, the cost of the balance of the system (BOS) gets reduced as well.

How does a bifacial solar panel work?

The top solar cells of a bifacial solar panel system face the sun, so they capture incident sun rays directly, absorbing only certain wavelengths. The top solar cells function like those of a conventional solar panel array.

The bottom solar cells absorb light that is reflected off the ground. This light is called albedo light. When bifacial panels are placed on a brightly transparent material (such as a white TPO ceiling or the ground with light-colored boulders), additional electricity is produced from the backside. This additionally generated electricity can further result in a 30 per cent increase in productivity and more efficient and clean air.

Benefits of Bifacial Solar Panels

  • Efficiency

As bifacial modules can produce powers from both sides of the panel, there is an overall increase in energy generation. Some bifacial solar panels can generate up to 30% more energy than conventional mono facial solar panels.

  • Durability

Both sides are covered with tempered glass, tempered glass is weather-resistant, UV-resistant, can withstand high temperature and strong wind, and tempered glass enhances the light-absorbing ability of the panel.

  • Works Well in Diffuse Light

The extra surface area also means that bifacial panels perform better in diffuse light. Making the long-term costs lower than mono facial panels.

Bifacial modules inherited all the advantages of mono PERC modules: high power density resulting in significant BOS savings, high energy yield with better low light performance and lower temperature coefficient. In addition, bifacial PERC modules also harvest energy from the rear side, demonstrating higher energy yield.

SUNKEAN bifacial solar panel use MBB and half cut technology, excellent wind load 2400Pa & snow load 5400Pa under certain installation method, and the module efficiency up to 21.3%, if you are looking for high-quality, reliable and long-lasting bifacial solar panels, please contact us.
